North part of Sumatra, province of Aceh has been a land forgotten for years by God and people. That is where the tsunami took the heaviest tool – over 200 thousand people died in towns and villages flooded by the ocean. Paradoxically this disaster, thanks to the humanitarian aid and journalists, tore away the curtain drawn over Aceh years ago. The island reality is an ongoing guerrilla war for in decades now between GAM (Free Aceh Movement) and Indonesian Army. The film made by an internationally awarded director Krystian Matysek shows us with precision and an-depth view the life affected by violence and a hope for freedom of the people who have never stopped fighting for it.
