Two friends – Kuba and Michal are trying to leave their home town in a small Polish province. Allured by the promise of new professional experience and a decent wage they set off on a military campaign in Afghanistan. In the back of their minds they are also guided by the sense of responsibility to accomplish the task of a generation just like the their grandfathers who fought in World War II and fathers who for many years opposed the communist regime. Once their mission is over the world suddenly becomes completely different. For Michal particularly his first days back in Poland become the moment of redefining all that he considered important. Krzysztof Kasior’s film portrays the brotherhood, youth and the maturing of courage.
