Nekropolis is a film about the Old Cemetery on Ogrodowa street in Łódź. Like the Powązki cemetery in Warsaw and the Rakowice cemetery in Krakow, the Old Cemetery in Łódź is considered to be a necropolis of exceptional historical and artistic significance. It is here that representatives of prominent bourgeois families, top industrialists, and merited residents are buried.
Its exceptional quality as a cemetery of three religions, together with its beautiful composition of ancient trees, tasteful sculptures and magnificent tombs, make the Old Cemetery in Łódź a site that is unique on the European scale.
