A story about the residents of a small village who were transported deep into the Soviet Union when their homeland was taken over by Russians after the Ribbentrop – Molotov pact in 1939. The film follows the lives of a Polish family and their Jewish and Ukrainian neighbours from the same village.
Born in 1947. Graduated in film directing from the National Film School in Łódź. Winner of awards at Polish and international film festivals, including Gdynia, Berlin and Locarno.
