Dominik, a Polish PhD candidate in art history, travels to the Italian town of Porto Ercole to study the final years in the life of acclaimed painter Michelangelo Caravaggio. Along with Silvia and the local priest Paolo, Dominik inadvertently becomes involved in a criminal intrigue. Step by step, they slowly uncover the long-hidden secret of Porto Ercole. It soon turns out that the world of art as Dominik knew it will never be the same again.
