The story is set in the Przegorzały palace, where after a group therapy session using the controversial Hellinger method (often applied to resolving family disputes), one of the patients finds the body of Henryk Telak, who had been the subject of the previous session. Constable Smolar and prosecutor Agata Szacka arrive at the crime scene. As it turns out, there is something about their past that they have in common.
