38th Gdynia Film Festival. Interview with Paweł Pawlikowski

During the 38th Gdynia Film Festival, we interviewed Paweł Pawlikowski, who wrote (together with Rebecca Lenkiewicz) and directed the award-winning feature Ida.


Ida won the Grand Prize of the 38th Gdynia Film Festival: the ‘Golden Lions’ Award for Best Film. For her performance, Agata Kulesza received the award for Best Actress, while Łukasz Żal and Ryszard Lenczewski won the award for Best Photography, and Katarzyna Sobańska and Marcel Sławiński won the prize for Best Production Design. Ida also won the award of the Arthouse Cinema Network (SKSiL), the Critics’ Award, and the Don Quixote Award of the Polish Federation of Film Debate Clubs. Agata Trzebuchowska, who played the title role of Ida, was recognized as an Elle Rising Star.

Ida also received the FIPRESCI Jury Prize in the Special Presentations section of the 38th Toronto International Film Festival, which closed on September 15, 2013.


Ida was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
