"Ida" Awarded in Peru

Ida, a film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, won top laurels at the fifth Al Este de Lima festival, which closed on May 17.
“Ida” Wins Top Prize
Jowita Mikołajczyk of the Polish Embassy in Lima accepted the award on behalf of director Paweł Pawlikowski. The competition also featured two other Polish films: Papusza by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze and Płynące wieżowce (Floating Skyscrapers) by Tomasz Wasilewski.
The Al Este de Lima Festival and Support of the Polish Film Institute
Every year, the festival lineup features a selection of the most interesting film from Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. Polish films screened at the fifth edition of the festival thanks to support of the Polish Film Institute.
Polish Films Not Only in Lima
Thanks to the festival’s growing popularity, the festival lineup screened not only in Peru’s capital city Lima, but also in Arequipa, Lambayeque, Cusco, and Pucallpa.
