W imię… (In the Name Of…), a film directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the award for Best Feature Film at the 27th Mix Milano IFF.
Another International Award
The award for Best Feature Film at the 27th Mix Milano Film Festival, a festival dedicated to LGBT cinema, marks yet another international award for Szumowska’s feature. At the 63rd Berlin IFF, W imię… (In the Name Of…) received the Teddy Award for best film on LGBT topics. The film also won the 10th edition of the Neisse Film Festival, and the International Women’s Film Festival in Dortmund.
W imię… (In the Name Of…)
tells the contemporary story of a priest who launches a help centre for troubled youths in a small parish. The good priest is well-liked by his congregation, yet he keeps the details of his complicated past a secret. The film was produced by MD4 and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. The world premiere of W imię… (In the Name Of…) took place at the Berlin International Film Festival. Theatrical release in Poland is scheduled for September 20, 2013, with distribution handled by Kino Świat.
