Polish Films at 11th Brussels IFF
Four Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute will screen in competition and out-of-competition at the 11th Flagey International Film Festival in Brussels, which runs from June 19 through June 26, 2013.
Bejbi Blues (Baby Blues) and Żywie Biełaruś! (Viva Bel@rus!) in Main Competition
The lineup of the Main Competition features two Polish films: Bejbi Blues (Baby Blues) by Katarzyna Rosłaniec, which received the Crystal Bear award at this year’s Berlinale, and Żywie Biełaruś! (Viva Bel@rus!) by Krzysztof Łukaszewicz. The lineup of last year’s Main Competition at this festival screened Róża (Rosa) by Wojciech Smarzowski.
Nieulotne (Lasting) and Miłość (Loving) in Panorama
The festival’s Panorama section will feature Nieulotne (Lasting) by Jacek Borcuch, awarded at the Sundance film festival for Michał Englert’s cinematography, and Miłość (Loving) by Sławomir Fabicki. Last year, the Panorama section lineup featured Wymyk (Courage), directed by Greg Zgliński.
The Brussels IFF aims at showcasing the latest films produced throughout Europe. This year’s festival lineup features almost 70 films. Screenings will be accompanied by Q&A sessions with filmmakers and masterclasses.
