Polish Films Awarded
Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute received awards at the tenth Golden Apricot International Film Festival, which closed on July 20, 2014 in Yerevan.
Silver Apricot Award for Efekt domina (The Domino Effect)
Efekt domina (The Domino Effect), a documentary film directed by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the Silver Apricot Award in the Golden Apricot IFF’s international documentary competition. Jury members included Sergei Trymbach, Victoria Belopolskaya, Giona A. Nazzaro, and Svetoslav Stoyanov. The film, which previously received awards at the Krakow Film Festival and the Visions du Réel IFF in Switzerland, screened at the Golden Apricot IFF alongside eleven documentaries from around the world.
Mleczny brat (Milky Brother) Voted Best Armenian Short Film
Mleczny brat (Milky Brother), a short film by Vahram Mkhitaryan made in co-production and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the award for Best Armenian Short Film. The film, produced by Joanna Szymańska and Wajda Studio, also received the Hrant Matevosyan Award for Best Screenplay for Vahram Mkhitaryan and Aleksandra Majdzińska (the film is an adaptation of a short story by Vano Siradeghyan).
