Polish Films in the US

In this last month of the Oscar campaign, Polish films will be screened at prestigious film festivals in the United States.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival, starting today, is one of the last opportunities to present films to Academy members. The festival’s competition for outstanding first film will include two Polish features: Reverse by Borys Lankosz and Miracle Seller by Jarosław Szoda and Bolesław Pawica. The latter film will also be part of the World Cinema Now section that presents the most interesting features of 2009.

January 21 will bring the launch of the Sundance International Film Festival. Its World Cinema Narrative Competition will include  All That I Love by Jacek Borcuch, the first Polish feature in history to be in competition at Sundance. The Short Film Program will also include two student films from the Łódź Film School: Echo by Magnus von Horn and Birthday by Jenifer Malmqvist.
