Polish Project Recognized in Trieste
The latest project by Greg Zglinski, known under the working title Ashdriver, received Special Mention of the Jury at the 3rd When East Meets West co-production forum at the Trieste International Film Festival. The film’s Polish producer is Łukasz Dzięcioł of Opus Film.
Special Recognition for Polish Filmmakers
The When East Meets West forum is open to producers and film professionals from Eastern Europe who are looking for co-producers for their projects; every year, they have an opportunity to meet with industry representatives from Italy, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. The Polish film was recognized among 22 projects from 11 countries. The WEMW Development Award grand prize went to Anishoara, a co-production between Moldova and Germany, presented at the forum by the Weydemann Bros. production company.
“Greg Zglinski’s latest project is a comedy that is intended to bring to mind such films as Sideways by Alexander Payne and Little Miss Sunshine by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris. It will be a contemporary story, set mostly in Poland,” as producer Łukasz Dzięcioł of Opus Film told the Polish Film Institute.
