French Music Prize for Mykietyn

Composer Paweł Mykietyn received the Prix France Musique Sacem 2012 award for the original score of Essential Killing, directed by Jerzy Skolimowski. The film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Prix France Musique Sacem

The Prix France Musique Sacem is awarded annually by Radio France Musique and Sacem Societe des Auteurs, Compositeurs et Editeurs de musique (Society of Music Authors, Composers and Editors) to the author of the most original film score. The winner is commissioned by the Radio France to compose a music piece, which will be performed a year later by the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra at the following edition of the awards ceremony.

Paweł Mykietyn Wins

Paweł Mykietyn’s original score for Essential Killing, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, competed against ten other contenders, including scores for such films as Tree of Life, The Artist, Incendies, Rendez-vous avec un ange, The Minister, The Skin I Live In, Et maintenant, on va où?, A Dangerous Method, Black Swan, and My Little Princess.
