The film is based on a book by legendary Polish war reporter Ryszard Kapuściński. It is the story of a reporter, searching for the truth of war. During his perilous journey across Angola, he is faced with events that force him to reevaluate his approach to his work, and to life in general. It is the dramatic account of the three months Kapuściński spent in Angola in 1975, in the early days of its decades-long civil war. The film’s narrative animation helps visualise past events and the surrealistic visions of war. The documentary scenes focus on aspects that appear to differ from the animated plot, but ultimately share a common denominator and complement the story in a suggestive and evocative way.
