The Kruzensztern is Russia’s great pride, a ship that is used for training future sailors of the trade fleet. A film crew accompanied the ship during the trainees’ life exam – a two-month long cruise from Kaliningrad to Santander, Spain and back. The film is about a young man experiencing the adventure of his life, and how his romantic dreams about a sea cruise soon change into a difficult test of skill and will. The youth, watched by the captain and the older sailors, has to overcome his anxieties and become a man.
