August 1968. A unit of the Polish People’s Republic Army is sent on a „brotherly help mission” to Czechoslovakia. The tank unit makes sluggish progress and the tank “Ladybird” goes missing just after crossing the border. Major Grążlowa, accompagned by her jealous husband, gets on a motorbike and conducts a chase in an effort to avoid being punished for the disorder in her unit. At the same time, she wants to catch and humiliate her lover, Romek, who shortly before the invasion turned her down…
Born in 1964. Theatre director, journalist and director of Helena Modrzejewska Theatre in Legnica. Graduated from the History Department at the Jagiellonian University and the theatre drama directing at the State Theatre Academy in Kraków. Laureate of numerous awards for hist drama productions. Operation Danube is his feature film debut.
