An episode from the cycle Polish Holidays. A young vicar arrives at his first parish. Soon he is forced to replace the ill parish priest, right before the approaching First Communion, an important event in the life of the small town community. The vicar, trying to introduce new customs against the local tradition falls into conflict with the inhabitants. In his attempts to reconcile he gets to know his congregation better and thus finds out a dark secret – the drama of a child, hidden under the appearances of family happiness. Tied with the confession confidentiality, the young priest experiences a drama of conscience, as the deeply hidden incest clashes with the First Communion celebrations of joy and innocence.
