The story of Maria Fołtyn, a great Polish opera diva. She single-handedly created the title role in Halka by Stanisław Moniuszko in performances given all over the world. Stalin applauded her, Castro was delighted – but she did not become a favourite of the ruling system. Nowadays she educates her potential successors, teaching them for example how to “sing silence”. A film about a life full of great passion.
