12-years-old boy Pawełek decides to run through half of Poland to miraculous portrait of Holy Mary to beg for recovery of his gravely ill mother. An alcoholic sports teacher decides to join him, yet not entirely selflessly. For both of them the pilgrimage will be a trial of character.
