POLISH FILMS AT 2017 HOT DOCS
The Hot Docs International Documentary Film Festival in Toronto runs from April 27 through May 7. The lineup of this year's edition of the festival features six Polish documentaries.

Wojciech Smarzowski's Wołyń (Hatred) was voted Best Polish Film at the Polish Film Awards. Wołyń co-financed by Polish Film Institute won 9 awards.
POLISH ANIMATIONS IN COMPETITION AT ANNECY

"Maria Skłodowska-Curie" Nominated For German Film Awards
Maria Skłodowska-Curie (Marie Curie), a Polish-German-French-Belgian co-production co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, has been nominated in three of 16 categories for the Lola German Film Awards (Deutscher Filmpreis - Lola).
"COLD WAR" RECEIVES EURIMAGES FUNDING
Four Polish co-productions co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, including Cold War, the latest film by Paweł Pawlikowski, have received financing from the Council of Europe's Eurimages fund.

"United States of Love" in Dutch Cinemas
Zjednoczone Stany Miłości (United States of Love), a film directed by Tomasz Wasilewski and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was released theatrically in the Netherlands on March 2.
"Afterimage" in Cinemas in France
Powidoki (Afterimage), a film directed by Andrzej Wajda and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute was released theatrically in France on February 22, 2017.
POLISH FILMS SUCCEED AT 67TH BERLINALE. Q&A WITH THE FILMMAKERS
February 21 marked a press Q&A with the filmmakers whose films screened at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival. The Q&A took place at Warsaw's Kultura cinema and was organised by the Polish Film Institute in cooperation with the Polish Filmmakers Association.

At the closing ceremony of the 67th Berlin International Film Festival, Pokot (Spoor) by Agnieszka Holland, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute received the Silver Bear - Alfred Bauer Prize - for a feature film that opens new perspectives.

Komunia (Communion), a documentary directed by Anna Zamecka and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, won the documentary film competition at the 28th Trieste International Film Festival.

Powidoki (Afterimage), a film directed by Andrzej Wajda and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute was released theatrically in Canada on February 1, 2017.
