Paweł Pawlikowski's film received as many as 5 nominations for the Awards of the London Film Critics' Circle, including the Best Film. The winners will be announced on January 20th.

December 15 marked the European Film Awards ceremony in Seville. "Cold War" won five awards, alongside for the Best European Film! The Best European Animated Feature Film award went to the animation feature "Another Day of Life" by Damian Nenow and Raul de la Fuente. Both films were co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, documentary film "The Beksińskis. The Sound and Picture Album" by Marcin Borchardt qualified as the only European production for the documentary film competition at the Slamdance festival, which takes place from 25 to 31 January 2019.
