2016 SUNDANCE AWARDS FOR POLISH FILMMAKERS
January 31 marked the closing of the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. The festival's closing ceremony brought awards for two films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
POLISH FILMS AT FESTIVAL SCOPE
The Polish Film Institute has joined forces with Festival Scope, a platform for new channels of film distribution. Festival Scope will feature a selection of Polish films, including film debuts and films that screened at major international film festivals.
Excellent Reception of "The Lure" at Sundance FF
Córki Dancingu (The Lure) by Agnieszka Smoczyńska had the excellent reception at the Sundance Film Festival 2016. The feature debut co-financed by the Polish Film Institute screens in the World Dramatic Cinema Competition.
POLISH FILMS IN 2016 SUNDANCE LINEUP
Córki Dancingu (The Lure) by Agnieszka Smoczyńska, Wszystkie nieprzespane noce (All These Sleepless Nights) by Michał Marczak and Figura (Figure) by Katarzyna Gondek are in official selection at the Sundance International Film Festival.
"THE HERE AFTER" WINS 2015 SWEDISH FILM AWARDS
Intruz (The Here After), a film directed by first-time director Magnus von Horn and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received this year's Swedish Film Awards in three categories: Best Film, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor.
"Body/Ciało" in Cinemas in Brazil
Body/Ciało (Body), a film directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, was released theatrically in Brazil on January 14.
"United States of Love" in Main Competition at the 66th Berlin IFF
Tomasz Wasilewski's latest feature Zjednoczone Stany Miłości (United States of Love) will have its world premiere screening in Main Competition at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. The film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

Magnus von Horn's feature debut The Here After, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, has been nominated for the Swedish Film Awards in four categories.
"BODY" IN SWISS AND DANISH CINEMAS
Body/Ciało (Body), a film directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will be released theatrically in January in both Switzerland and Denmark.
"ESCAPE FROM THE 'LIBERTY' CINEMA" DVD RELEASE IN THE UK
January will mark the UK DVD release of Wojciech Marczewski's Ucieczka z kina 'Wolność' (Escape from the 'Liberty' Cinema) by Second Run. The film was previously available on DVD as part of the Polish Cinema Classics Vol. II collection, released in 2013.
"ZUD" AT 2016 BERLINALE
Zud, the feature debut by Marta Minorowicz, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, has been selected to screen in the Generation Kplus competition at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.
"I, OLGA HEPNAROVÁ" AT 2016 BERLINALE
Ja, Olga Hepnarová (I, Olga Hepnarová), a co-production between the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, directed by Tomáš Weinreb and Petr Kazda and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, will screen in the Panorama section of the upcoming 66th Berlin International Film Festival.
POLISH EDITOR WINS EUROPEAN FILM AWARD
Jacek Drosio received the European Editor 2015 award of the European Film Academy for his work on Body/Ciało (Body), a film directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

WOJCIECH STAROŃ AWARDED IN TALLINN
At the 19th Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn, Wojciech Staroń received the Jury Prize for Best Cinematographer for his work on Świt (Dawn).
POLISH-ISRAELI PROJECT WINS AT TORINO FILMLAB
The eighth edition of Torino FilmLab, a side event of the Torino IFF, brought an award for AA, a Polish-Israeli project by director Jack Faber.
