February 5, 2014 will mark the opening of "Martin Scorsese Presents: Masterpieces of Polish Cinema", a series of screenings of restored classic Polish films at the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York City. The event has been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
"Loving Vincent" on Kickstarter
In March 2014, Gdańsk-based animation studio BreakThru Films plans to launch production of Loving Vincent, a feature animated film project co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and directed by Dorota Kobiela. The film focuses on the life and controversial death of Vincent van Gogh as seen through the eyes of the characters of his paintings. February 6 marks the closing date of the project's fundraising campaign on Kickstarter.
"The Island" Wins in Rotterdam
La Isla (Wyspa / The Island), a 30-minute short feature co-directed by Katarzyna Klimkiewicz [Hanoi-Warszawa (Hanoi-Warsaw), Flying Blind] and Dominga Sotomayor (Thursday Till Sunday), received the Canon Tiger Award at the prestigious Rotterdam International Film Festival.

The Cartoon Movie forum, scheduled to take place in March, has recently announced the lineup of this year's edition. Among the 55 films presented at the Lyon event this year are five animated films made by Polish producers.
