Polish Films in Palm Springs
The lineup of the 19th Palm Springs International ShortFest, which opened on June 18, features six films by Polish filmmakers. The festival runs through June 24.
Award Nomination for "Sleepincord"
The short animated film Snępowina (Sleepincord) by Marta Pajek has been nominated for the annual Cartoon d'Or award of the European Association of Animation Film. The film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
"In the Shadow" Awarded in Seattle
Ve stinu (Polish title: W cieniu; English title: In the Shadow), a co-production between the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia directed by David Ondříček and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute received an award at the 39th Seattle International Film Festival.

"Baby Blues" Wins CICAE Award
Bejbi Blues (Baby Blues), directed by Katarzyna Rosłaniec and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received two awards at the 29th Festroia International Film Festival in Setúbal, Portugal. The festival closed on June 16.
Polish Animations Awarded in Egypt
Polish animated films received two awards at the 16th Ismaila International Festival for Documentaries & Shorts in Egypt. The event ran from June 4 through June 9.
"Fuck For Forest" Receives Special Mention
Michał Marczak's documentary Fuck For Forest received special mention in the Sheffield Green Award competition at the 19th Sheffield Doc/Fest International Documentary Film Festival, which closed on June 16. The film had been co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
"Ab-ovo" Awarded in Annecy
Ab-ovo, directed by Anita Kwiatkowska-Naqvi and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, received the award for Best Graduation Film at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, which closed on June 15.

Several Polish films co-financed by the Polish Film Institute will screen in competition and out of competition at the 15th Taipei International Film Festival, which runs from June 28 through July 20, 2013.

Niedźwiedź władca gór (Lord of the Carpathians), directed by Krystian Matysek, received the Best Documentary Award at the 19th Envirofilm International Environmental Film Festival in Banská Bystrica, which closed on June 8.

Tomasz Popakul's Ziegenort received the award for Best Animated Film at the 16th Brooklyn Film Festival, which closed on June 9.

The short feature Olena, directed by Elżbieta Benkowska, screened in the Short Film Competition. The animated film Danse Macabre, directed by Małgorzata Rżanek, graduate of the Graphic Design Department of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, screened alongside 17 other student films in the Cinéfondation section of the festival.

La Vénus à la fourrure (Venus in Fur), directed by Roman Polański and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute, screened in Main Competition at the 66 th Cannes International Film Festival. The Cannes screening marked the film's world premiere.
